💼 Your Missions
We are looking for a motivated and skilled BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) engineer to join our Industry team and contribute to the development of next-generation EV charging infrastructure across Europe. You will play a key role in the design, commissioning, and optimization of electrical systems supporting our charging stations, working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, international environment.
🦸♀️🦸♂️Your responsibilities
- Act as Electra’s BESS technical expert, mastering both hardware and software
- Provide technical leadership for battery integration into Electra’s stations, covering electrical design, layouts, cabling details and continuous improvement of installation procedures.
- Support international massive rollout activities, ensuring project managers and subcontractors have all the technical information required, organizing trainings when needed, and assisting with DNO interfaces.
- Own and maintain all BESS documentation, including technical guidelines, installation manuals
- Lead the certification process for all BESS suppliers, ensuring compliance with international regulations and internal standards.
- Contribute to O&M strategy and execution, defining procedures, maintenance schedules, and tools, training O&M teams across countries, and providing support in case of operational issues.
- Anticipate and resolve procurement challenges, supporting tenders, supplier negotiations, and adapting designs to evolving national regulations and certifications.
- (Optional/Nice to Have) Deepen expertise in power electronics and DC bus control, including BESS converters and their interaction with station architecture.
😎 Your Profile
Must have:
- Solid background in electrical engineering with proven hands-on experience working on battery systems
- Strong knowledge of battery hardware and software
- Familiarity with AC/DC systems, grid integration, protection devices, and power electronics
- Practical understanding of O&M activities for batteries, including SOC checks, cooling system troubleshooting, and electrical maintenance operations.
- Strong focus on safety and BESS compliance with European and national regulations.
- Autonomy, problem-solving mindset, and ability to support both technical deep-dives and practical field operations.
- English and French - fluent, both written and spoken (German is a plus)
Nice to have:
- Experience with certification processes for energy storage systems (safety, grid compliance, fire protection).
- Knowledge of communication protocols and integration with EMS / backend systems (e.g., Modbus, CAN, IEC 61850, MQTT)
- Interest in data analysis and control algorithms to improve performance of BESS and DC bus systems.
