Software Engineer Station
🏠 What Do We Do?
The shift to electric mobility is happening. Electra is accelerating it.
Transportation is one of Europe's biggest sources of carbon emissions. Since 2021, Electra exists to make charging so simple that electric vehicles become the obvious choice for everyone.
In 5 years, we've built a team of 300+ talents from 21 nationalities in 10 countries.
We’ve grown into one of Europe's leading fast-charging operators by deploying fast, reliable infrastructure and user experiences across our own network, and we’re now expanding to thousands more charging points in Europe with our own eMSP.
Backed by over €1 billion in funding, we’re looking for bold, passionate, collaborative talents to drive Europe’s energy transition.
If that sounds exciting, we’d love to hear from you!
💼 Your Mission
Join Electra’s Stations team in Bordeaux and help build the software layer that makes high-power charging stations reliable in the real world. The team owns the on-site charging experience — from supervision to power delivery — and develops an in-house extended Charge Point Management System coordinating chargers, batteries, load-management devices, totems, payment terminals, and station networking.
🦸♀️🦸♂️ Your Responsibilities
1. Build and operate station-supervision systems
Design, ship, and maintain backend services, APIs, and operational interfaces used to coordinate and supervise Electra stations and their on-site assets: chargers, batteries, load-management devices, totems.
Improve reliability, observability, data quality, and incident-prevention capabilities so stations open on time, stay available, and charge at full power.
2. Own power-delivery challenges end to end
Build our in-house load management software that coordinates chargers and batteries to deliver a best-in-class high-power charging experience for drivers.
Take complex problems from discovery through rollout, making pragmatic technical trade-offs and following through after release with Ops and Energy stakeholders.
3. Raise the engineering bar for a fast-scaling charging network
Simplify architectures, strengthen reliability and performance, and mentor peers while staying hands-on as an individual contributor.
Use modern engineering practices and AI tooling responsibly to accelerate delivery while protecting quality, privacy, maintainability, and technical judgment.
😎 Your Profile
You are an experienced hands-on full-stack, backend, web, or IoT-adjacent software engineer with a strong track record shipping production-grade systems.
You enjoy working across the stack — backend services, APIs, infrastructure, observability, frontend UX, and integrations with physical-world systems.
You bring strong technical judgment, ownership, product sense, and attention to reliability, performance, security, data quality, edge cases, and operational workflows.
You are a fast learner, comfortable entering a complex domain and collaborating closely with product, operations, and energy teams.
Experience with Go, Ruby on Rails, AWS, OpenTelemetry, distributed architectures, or AI-assisted engineering is a plus, not a hard requirement.
This role is based in Bordeaux.
